ABOUT LEATHER
Belfagor is a pure vegetable-tanned, full-grain leather article produced by the renowned Badalassi Carlo Tannery in Tuscany, Italy—a member of the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Al Vegetale.
It was developed as an Italian Tuscan spin on traditional English Bridle leather, blending heavy fatliquoring and surface waxing with a supple Vachetta base.
Wax Bloom / Patina Behavior: The defining visual hallmark of Belfagor is its white wax bloom/patina. As the leather is worked or worn, this wax layer buffing away reveals a rich, smooth semi-aniline grain beneath. In cooler temperatures or after period resting, the natural waxes can re-emerge on the surface.
